The known Races of Evendarr are as follows:

Barbarians: Barbarians are found across all the lands of Avalon and presumably the world. Tribes are generally named after animals common to the area that embody different aspects admired by the natives. They are of human stock, in distinguishable from "civilized" humans except for their customs and dress. It is interesting to note, that animal "Totems" as they are called, can be shared by different tribes and yet have different determinations. An example would be the Eagle tribe of Eastern Avalon. Among these people, the Eagle represents Intelligence and Nobility. Yet among some of the Western  Tribes the same bird is regarded as unclean, being a scavenger of the dead and a thief. Some tribes are known to wander across vast distances, others are quite localized. They rarely build permanent structures, favoring winter versus summer camps, abandoning them as the seasons pass and returning again when the time is right.

Dwarves: Dwarves are a rarer race, shorter than humans, usually with think full beards, some ornately decorated and woven into braids depending on the local customs. They are quite hardy and are quite comfortable mining the depths of the earth. Some would describe the Dwarves as the epitome of Greed, always lusting after gold, precious metals and gemstones of all types. The Dwarves however see themselves as artisans of the finest caliber working the bounty of the stone that the were born from. From my own experiences, those that do drink have both a deep love of the bottle, and a High tolerance for its contents. Dwarves favor underground cities but have been known to establish aboveground dwellings. Generally though, these buildings are more used for the comfort of visitors, with the majority of the building being underground.

Dark Elves: There is little one can say about Dark Elves without drawing the Ire of members of this race. I personally do not know much about them, their customs or their habits. They hold themselves as a Highly honorable society, with strict laws of protocols to be followed when dealing with their own kind. To my mind, all bets are off when dealing with Non-Dark Elves. I would especially avoid calling Any of them by either the term Drae or Vorne. There appears to be a critical distinction between these two names, use it on the wrong person and you'll find yourself waking up in a resurrection circle.  Dark Elves have the same appearance as any Elf, generally tall, thin & pointed ears there are however two quite noticeable differences. The first would be that the skin of a Dark Elf, is a Jet Black. There appears to be some variation among them, but a uniform solid black is the most common. The second would be the hair color, typically a pure white, or sometimes a Silver. Dark Elves are typically from a land called Draelonde, which lies just north and east of Ravenholt.  For a while, Draelonde was part of the Kingdom of Evendarr but was allowed to leave the Kingdom and go its own way. The borders of Draelonde are closed to any outsider, though ambassadors to other lands are common. Rumor has it that the typical Dark Elf city is a series of underground caves.

Gypsies: Throughout Evendarr there is a constant Ebb and Flow of Gypsies. They wander freely from place to place and to my mind almost represent a halfway point between the human stock of Barbarians and "Civilized" people. I doubt that any gypsy would agree with this point of view, they have a deep love of their tribes and traditions and generally do not take lightly anyone comparing their proud and illustrious heritage with anyone else's. To my knowledge there are no permanent camps of Gypsies currently but wagon trains of a few families can be found anywhere. Most folks hear a gypsy coming well before they actually arrive due to a Gypsies penchant for decorating everything they own, horses, clothing, wagons, with bells. Endless amounts of bells. Clothing styles vary, but are considered to be on the "Garish" end of the scale by most nobles. I suspect that any Gypsy found in a uniform color or patter must be under a mind altering affect.  One should also beware of the "Gypsy Curse", an innate ability to most gypsies, one should be most careful of threatening them or insulting them. These Curses are used as a way of shaming someone into showing the proper respect. Generally not life threatening, they run the gamut of curses, adding tails, horns, warts, or causing one to walk backwards at all times. Getting a Curse removed can be quite difficult, as the caster must believe the victim is truly sincere and repentant. Forget trying to get another gypsy to remove another's curse.

Half-Ogres: are very rare, but it is known that Half-Ogres from Southern Quentari are migrating to Evendarr City to serve in the Military & Mercenary Companies there.

Half-Orc: Half-Orcs are one of the rarest of races to be seen , mercenary bands.

Hoblings: Primarily traders and Merchants that work the caravans and shipping companies. A common refrain held in the City of Braughm-Roar, Blackstone is: "After you make a deal with a Hobling, count your fingers and toes, then count them again to be sure".

Elves: Traveler's are very common throughout the lands. Many cities have a native population. Elves are known to hold business in all manners of Arts and Crafts. Generally however they have little to do with the sea.

Sarr: Small Clans can be found anywhere, so have been established for so long they are well integrated into the native population. All can be traced back to the Sarr homelands of Myrr.

Scavengers: Within Evendarr, these few creatures are truly a "Third Class Citizen". They barely exist on the fridges of cities and the wild. Too Cultured for their wild brethren to accept them, to wild for the civilized to tolerate. Always halfway between the two, and generally tormented by both.  In some places Entire races have sprung up and formed their own civilization, with learning and customs to match their origins. But this is so rare it is generally regarded as myth. Word does come from beyond the lands of Evendarr of a race known as Drakes, Lizard men, some say even descendants of Dragons. But as with many things, this too may be mere Rumor.

In the cases of the more "Civilized" Scavengers some debate using a new term to describe these beings "Anthropomorph".

Stone Elves:  A small clan lives in the Dryad Woods.  Stone Elves are generally few and far between. Many governments have them as advisors for their impartial and emotionless viewpoint.

Wolven: A rare race, once nearly wiped out, now rebounding. Individual males can be found everywhere scouting and marking out territories that they claim as their own. These claims are only for purposes of dominance within the tribes/packs of Wolven and have no impact on Local Laws. So long as this remains the case, the local sheriffs will not get involved. Claiming the Kings land as one personal holding tends to draw ire from the locals.

Wood Elves: There are a handful of Tribes and Clans of Wood Elves in and around the Whitemane forest, but generally small enclaves, tribes or families can be found in nearly any large forest.
