    This area known only as the Dreadlands is in southern Avalon. The "Dreadlands" is an area of wastelands where nothing appears to grow well. Trees are warped and stunted, grass is yellowed and withered, and random storms of poisonous gases whirl around. Undead do wander there, mainly because they are some of the few creatures that can stand the storms. Invasion is problematic due to the nature of the area. It is rumored that an ancient city sits crumbling at the center of the Dreadlands.

    This area is bordered by the up and coming Baronies Lorinoriea, Blackwell and Hawthorn's Bluff. Recently, Cartographers sent to the area have noticed a small but significant expansion of the area of the Dreadlands. In essence, it's now slowly growing. Markers set at it's edges show that it is growing at a rate of 50-100 yards per year. It is an unclaimed area as far as Kingdoms go, since it appears unable to be settled.

    King Mykel Endarr II has ordered a Fortress built on the borders of the 3 new Baronies and plans to place a new Prince/Princess in charge of the area to quicken the Baronies expansion into Duchies to surround the Dreadlands upon 3 sides.
