It's time to start another lengthy discussion of the events of the July gather within Avendale.
This event was held in the (still unnamed?) frontier town to the north of Wainsford.
Friday evening adventures:
Scrolls needed to transport adventurers into the plane of chaos were delivered
to the Healer's Guild. Adventurers were sent on a mission to the plane of chaos
to retrieve four shards of a Pyramid of Order to use to cure Guildmaster Andvar
of his curse. It seems Mistress Chaos very much wanted to prevent this, and
was about town with her minions. The courier made it to the guild, and the scrolls
were secured. However, Mistress Chaos decided to pay a visit to the Guild herself,
and rifted the Guidmaster out to question him. While they were away, Baron Algorian
ordered a ward be placed on the guild and sealed M.C. out of the guild when
she returned. The townsfolk did their best to drive her out of town that night.
All four shards of the pyramid of order were retrieved by different aventuring
groups into the PLane of Chaos. No one seemed permanently affected by the time
spent in the Plane of Chaos. It became clear by morning that one of the adventuring
groups kept their rescued shard for themselves, and by the gathers end, the
forth shard had not been relocated.
Saturday afternoon:
Beings of Chaos were upset that House Bashere and friends were working on restoring
Gorman Kane to balance, and killed and reanimated Morris, and then summoned
members of House Bashere on false pretenses to Gorman Kane. They were lead off
and attacked. Later that day the chaos elementals attacked near the tavern trying
to scare Bling, Morris, and the rest of the House off from aiding Gorman Kane.
Saturday night:
Many of the adventurers of Avendale traveled to a lair where a spirit bottle
of the vampire Karvecki was still rumored to exist. After battling our way through
5 rooms, we found that we had only one Destroy Formal Magic scroll for the bottle,
and not the Circle around it. So we fought our way out again. I believe only
a handful of people ressurected, which overall, was not bad for such a dangerous
task. I believe Karvecki has warned he may bring a more powerful vampire than
himself into town to exact some revenge.
Sunday morning/afternoon:
House Bashere and other travelers restored Gorman Kane to balance, and he came
with them just in time to aid in a large afternoon battle with Flame elementals,
giant wasps, adercombs (sp?), and minotaurs.
Strange sightings:
There seems to be a local population of pixies who can Charm one into happiness
if one is not happy.
Giant wasps. Very nasty.
A River Troll who seems to live with his people very close to Baron Algorian's
lands, and wanted to seek a peaceful accord.
A minotaur who wanted to do an honor combat with a Quentari elf earth scholar.
Luckily, it never came to blows.
