THE COLLECTED KNOWLEDGE AND HISTORY
OF TYRRA IN THE GENERAL AREA OF STONEREACH
Alcuin's Encyclopedia
As collected by Alcuin of the Blood Guarde
An Introduction
This is an attempt to gather and record what knowledge we
the current inhabitants of Stonereach have of the vast history of Tyrra.
The information is based on tomes discovered, conversations with elder
beings, and remnants of what has come before us. While all the information
contained herein is true as we currently know it, future discoveries may
serve to shed light on the information. This volume is a first attempt
to collect all the information to pass on to posterity. Future volumes
will organize the information and attempt to construct a detailed view
of history as it passes through it’s phases.
- Aldren
- Aldren is the second most powerful dragon mage ever. In the time before
recorded history he defeated the mythical beast known as the Jabborwocky and
enslaved the beast. The manor of the defeat is unknown. After defeating the
creature, he enslaved it and put it to the purpose of protecting his
daughter Alice. His daugter Alice is a mischevious girl who is childlike in
manner even after having lived millennium. She has inherited much of her
father’s power and has used it to make real stories and fairy tales to
entertain herself. In the year 601 she loosed the heroes and villains of her
stories on the populace of Stonereach for her amusement. After a fierce
battle with her guardians Jack (a semi-sentient fire breathing
jack-in-the-box) are Sam (Alice’s name for the Jabbowocky), Alice’s
actions were brought to the attention of her father. She has been grounded
for three millennium and should not bother us again.
- Ancient War, The
- In ages long past the inhabitants of Ibbanchara, the Driders, rose from
their underground city with no warning and made war upon all who dwelled
upon the surface. The chief weapons of the Drider’s armies were the
Queen’s guards, or Death Driders. All the attempts made by the surface
armies to slay the Death Driders were rebuffed. After many failed attempts a
wizard hit upon a way to neutralize the great warriors. Huge pits were dug
and the Death Driders were tricked into them. After falling into them,
hundreds of men jumped atop the Death Drider to hold it in place while the
hole was closed over them. Then the wizard placed a small pyramidal obelisk
over the site to place the Death Drider’s into suspended animation. While
the Death Driders were being removed at a great cost of life, a large group
of the surface dwellers organized a large party and pushed in the depths of
the underground city, Ibbanchara. None of the great wizards or warriors who
struck at the heart of their enemies were ever seen again. However, at about
this time the armies of the Driders disappeared, thus ending the war. The
fate of the great war party is unknown, but it is very possible that their
sacrifice ended the war. See Driders, Ibbanchara.

- Drider, Death Drider
- The Driders are a race of spider people who come from the city of
Ibbanchara. The strongest of the Driders are known as the Queen’s Guard,
or as Death Driders. In total there were six of these Death Driders. These
strongest of the driders are considered unkillable. See the Ancient War,
Ibbanchara.
- Ember
- A Red Dragon.
- Ghazneth
- These creatures hold non-elves in contempt and believe them beneath elves.
The curse grants the Ghazneth strength far beyond what they possessed
normally. It is known that only two elves ever have received the curse of
the Ghazneth. One male and one female. They have been cursed to seek one
thing each. When they achieve that which they seek, the curse will be lifted
and they will revert to their more mundane elven forms. The male Ghazneth
will revert to his mundane form when he is married to a female elf. He must
court her and it appears as if she must willingly choose to marry him. To
return the female Ghazneth to her native form, the blood of King Oberon and
Queen Mab must be drained from them, mixed together, and then she must drink
of their blood. It is unclear what state the Fey Royalty will be in when
this atrocity is committed. See Natalia the Red.
- Great Weapons of Note
- This is just a list of the Great Weapons of Note from the Past and Present
of Tyrra. See the individual entries.

- Ibbanchara
- An underground city that serves as the home of the Driders, a race of
spider people. It is the capitol city of the Drider Confederation. The
Ancient War was started when armies attacked from Ibbanchara. Ibbanchara is
also called the City of Gold by those who lie there, referring to the
abundant riches that adorn the walls and towers of the ancient city. Only
one person from the surface world has ever witnessed the opulent splendor
with their own eyes and gotten out. Who that person is is unknown at this
time. What is known is that they were able to gain entrance into the city
through an unguarded entrance. No one has ever entered the City of Gold with
the permission of the inhabitants. See the Ancient War, Driders.
- Malik
- One of the group of Death Knights who served as lieutenants to Nekros.
Malik is the strongest of the Death Knights. Current whereabouts are
unknown. See Nekros.
- Mother
- A Dragon.
- Natalia the Red
- Natalia was born an elf many thousands of years ago. She was married, but
her husband was slain by the first humans to come to these lands. Sometime
later she was made into a Dragon and she will remain a Dragon until she
dies. It is unclear what process was used for her transformation. The Oracle
has answered Yes and No when asked if it was a Dragon Magic Ritual used in
her transformation. To revenge her husband's death, she created a curse. The
curse turned elves into twisted abominations of their former selves,
creatures called Ghazneth. For some time now she has slept, awaiting her
reawakening though it is likely that these terms are misapplied to a being
of such age and power. It has been said that She is as she foresaw. The
Ghazneth that she has created have resurfaced again to prepare the way for
her return. The exact conditions they are striving for are unknown at this
time. See Ghazneth.

- Formerly a lich of tremendous power. His home was on the plane . After his
bottle was destroyed, he died his final death in the year 600. Slain by the
citizens of Stonereach.

Dead and Tyrra. All creatures that die and have their final resting places
among the halls he inhabits offer to him their knowledge. His knowledge is
limited however to the knowledge that the Dead carried with them to the
world beyond.
