The Great Library at Goldhaven was granted land by Prince Gabriel Harcourt on 604 ER. The Library currently takes up 1 city block on the waterfront and has its own private dock.
The Library itself is operated by the Guild of Librarians. Rank within the Guild is as follows:
Note: All titles listed below are for demonstration. Actual titles are decided upon by the indivual member. For example a Guild Apprentice can hold any of the following titles: Apprentice Librarian, Apprentice Historian, Apprentice Cartographer... The title need only be approved by the Guild Council to make it official.
Note: All promotions within the library are subject to the approval of the Master of the Book and/or the Library Council in addition to those requirements listed below.
| Library Contributor | Make application to the Guild Fey Trees. This is not Guild membership, but the access level for entering submission and such. | Contributor Access |
| Apprentice Librarian | Make application to the Guild that you wish to join as a contributing member and have it accepted. | Guildmember Forums Access |
| Journeyman Librarian | Similar to apprentice librarian, but able to run projects initiated bythe Master Librarians. | |
| Master Librarian | Able to initiate projects within the guild. | |
| Master Librarian Councelor | One of the members of the Guild Council. These persons direct all Guild activities to ensure consistency of material recieved and cataloged. | Library Council Member |
| Keeper of the Scroll | The Second higest rank within the Guild. This position runs council meetings in the absense fo the Master of the Book. | Library Council Member |
| Master of the Book | Guildmaster of the Library (replacements determined by council vote on permanent death or loss of previous Master of the Book | Full Library Access |
In addition to the above listed official rankings within the library, there are several other titles of note. They are as follows:
| Warder of the Charge | Librarian in charge of a specific project. This is in reference to the scroll or charge handed to all project leaders to show their authority to carry out their function regardless of rank within the library. | Allows the task manager to carry out the assigned function without interferance from other members of the library. |
