There have been many academics at The Royal Academy that have been researching Cantrip Spell Magic. After many years of research, and reading through reports sent by adventurers, the Academy has concluded a number of interesting facts. Cantrip Spell Magic existed in the past, and has only been recently rediscovered..

The first rediscovery of Cantrip spells was in 598 in the lands of Avendale but they have now spread from there across many lands. The various Cantrip Spells have all been named similar to the battle magic spells in existence after the minor celestial changes that occur each year.

Many of the spells were found by Adventurers or were recovered from formidable adversaries who were using the Cantrip Spells. As mentioned, these magic's existed in ancient times, though some may have been in limited use as few as five hundred years ago.

Since the recent rediscovery of Cantrip Spells and the invention of new Cantrip Spells, several Cantrip spells have ceased working. Since all magical effects are whim to the vast magical shifts that happen beyond our control, these cease of function may have been the result of a celestial shift in magical alignment. Some scholars, however, theorize that these Cantrip Spells utilized magical energies present on Tyrra that were simply “used up”. No concrete evidence exists at this time as to whether or not the currently functioning Cantrip Spells are consuming limited magical resources present on Tyrra. Were this true, it would explain why there are regions of Avalon in which no Cantrip Spells function – there would be none of these energies present in those lands. Were this hypothesis true, it would also mean that our use of Cantrip Spells will end when these resources are depleted. Perhaps this waning of
resources is why Cantrip Spells had ceased to be used in the past. Sadly, the decline and eventual cease of use of ancient Cantrip Spells is not well documented by those that lived at that time.

The following appendix is a list of the creators of Cantrip Spells that the Royal Academy currently knows about. There are many Cantrip Spells on this list that have ceased to work since their rediscovery and with the continuing influx of Magical reports to the Academy there are sure to be more added.
